Walking
carcass
I see a limb move. No! The whole
body is trying to leap.
Oh! Such struggle. Fueled with
sympathy I weep.
Should I help? Would my help
amount to something?
Maybe I’ll stare and watch if
it’s effort sums up to nothing.
Look! It really can’t make it,
let’s flee.
We could stare at healthy ones
that serve a soothing glee.
We all should benefit from it
demise.
Dead from corruption and cruel
vices, we realise.
I see a ray of hope, extricate it
we must from plunging into the abyss.
For even in the struggles, all I
see is a walking carcass.
